Working with Emily and Neal was such a riot. I had so much fun with them! From the moment I met them at a 'Bou in Maple Grove I knew I would love them. We drank some coffee and got to know each other. It was simple. It was sweet. Oh, and we laughed a whole bunch— another great sign that I am going to enjoy working with someone.
Then we spent a cold February afternoon together for their engagement session. That's when I felt like I got to know how great they really are and how much they care for each other. We went ice skating— something Neal is great at and Em...well, she tries. Then we took their pup Gema for a walk through the beautiful Lake Calhoun neighborhood in Minneapolis. Again, it was simple and it was sweet.
About a month before the wedding we had a Facetime meeting— me at my studio and the 2 of them cuddled up on their couch at home— to talk about the wedding day schedule and go over a few final details. After we got through the stuff we needed to talk about we spent the next 30 minutes or so laughing and talking all about our favorite bands and how excited we were for the live music at their wedding. And still, it was simple and sweet.
And then their wedding day arrived. It was probably the most perfect fall day we had in MN all year. I can't think of a way to make it better. I am so thankful that they allowed me to come alongside and celebrate with them. It is alway an honor, but their was something extra sweet about celebrating with them.
From sun up to sun down we had a blast and laughed a lot. And again, it was simple and it was sweet. Simple in that their day was all about a really great guy who met a really great girl and promised to each other that they would keep doing that for the rest of their lives. And that is really sweet.
